Patient Participation Group

Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) gives patients the opportunity to work with the practice to help improve services and the patient experience at Yalding Surgery.

What is a PPG?

A Patient Participation Group is made up of patients and practice staff who meet regularly to discuss ways of improving services and supporting the needs of our local community.
The group helps us understand what matters most to our patients and provides valuable feedback on areas such as:

  • Access to appointments
  • Communication with patients
  • Practice services and facilities
  • Health promotion and wellbeing initiatives

We welcome feedback and ideas from patients to help us continue improving the services we provide.

Members of the PPG

Patient Members

  • Michael David Townsend (Chair)
  • Jane Wood (Deputy Chair)
  • James Guillium-Scott
  • Julia James
  • Peter Crompton

Practice Representatives

  • Dr Shamim Ahmed
  • Dr Alex Scott
  • Jess Beney

The PPG meets at least four times a year.

What does the PPG do?

e PPG acts as a link between patients and the practice. It helps us:

  • Gather patient feedback
  • Identify areas where services can be improved
  • Discuss new ideas and developments
  • Support health promotion activities
  • Share patient views with local NHS organisations when appropriate

By working together, the PPG helps ensure that the patient voice is heard and considered when planning and improving services.

Please note that the PPG does not deal with individual complaints, personal medical concerns, or issues relating to a specific patient's care. These should be raised directly with the practice through the appropriate channels.

Interested in joining?

We are always keen to welcome new members and would like our PPG to reflect the diversity of our patient population.
