How to order repeat prescriptions at Yalding Surgery
Ordering a repeat prescription
The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:
- Using your NHS account (in the NHS App), where you can view your current repeat medication and select what you need (registration required)
- Using the repeat slip provided. These can be put in the black box outside the surgery or left with the dispensing team when you collect your medication.
We do not take repeat prescription requests by phone, except for housebound patients, for whom telephone requests are accepted.
Please allow 5 working days for your prescription to be processed.
- Requests made after 1pm will take an extra day.
- Weekends and bank holidays are not working days, so please allow additional time.
We ask that you only order the medication you need. Please do not automatically order everything on your repeat prescription.
Dispensing
We are a dispensing practice, which means we are able to dispense medications for patients who live more than a mile from the nearest chemist.
Medication should normally be collected during surgery open times.
Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from our dispensary or a pharmacy 5 working days after you have ordered it.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- On the NHS app where you order repeat prescriptions
- At your GP practice
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions. Find a pharmacy on the NHS website
- Via the NHS nominating a pharmacy page
Questions about your prescription
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription, please contact us.
